- In the heart of a wine estate, located 30 minutes from the sea, at the foot of Saintes, between a distillery and Cognac and Pineau des Charentes aging cellars, the gîtes of Domaine des Forges, (18th, late 19th century accommodation), were renovated in 2008.
  
  This small village has its own grocery store, where you can also find good bread.
  
  A municipal tennis court and hiking trails, one of which passes right through the Domaine des Forges, allow everyone to find something to do.

Best experience ever, beats by far other French wineries as well as Scottish/Irish whiskey distilleries, Stephane take the time to explain and personal visit of his factory. From squeeezing the grapes, to distilling, mixing, bottleing and storing the cognac in oak barrel casks. Had the privilege of tasting old cognacs 40 50 60 years old. Truly amazing and unique experience. Highly recommened for whisky connaisseurs like myself ( sinlge malt) and also rum enthusiasts. 10/10
