- The Best Western Royan Océan hotel (formerly Hôtel Foncillon) is located 50 meters from the beach and 5 minutes walk from the city center, opposite the Palais des Congrès and the ferry pier.
  
  All rooms are air conditioned. They are equipped with flat screen TV, courtesy tray (unlimited hot drinks), free WIFI via optical fiber. The superior rooms offer a panoramic view of the Bay of Royan. They are also all equipped with a minibar and a Nespresso coffee machine.
  
  The reception is open 24 hours a day, with a night watchman present.
  
  The seminar room for up to 15 people located on the top floor with terrace is fully equipped for meetings.
  
  Thanks to its location, you can enjoy a car-free vacation.

The hotel staff is very friendly and smiling. The room was very good and in very good condition. The bedding was very good. Special mention for the breakfast buffet. Lots of choice with pastries made by a baker.

Our experience was unfortunately very bad even though we had read a lot of positive reviews about this hotel. Room 16: One of the bedside lamps did not work, we were given the explanation that it was an electric switch. The water overflowed everywhere in the shower and did not drain, we were given the explanation that the water must be used at low pressure. We paid for the ocean view, we had a view of a building, with a little bit of sea on the side. We went down to breakfast at 10:15 a.m., the buffet ended at 10:30 a.m. and this was pointed out to us in an unpleasant manner. We have a 3 month old baby which explains our late arrival, and in any case it is not appropriate to point this out to the customer. I am not satisfied with the explanations given on the condition of the room, this in no way justifies the malfunctions, especially since the price of the room is significant. We were not charged the price of breakfast as compensation, however I found it necessary to describe our experience.
