The Castle of Panloy

Built on the banks of the Charente during the reign of Louis XV, the Château de Panloy still belongs to the same family. This is why it has been able to preserve all its period furniture and many stylish objects, witnesses of the life of yesteryear.
It is thus a very authentic atmosphere that you will discover by traversing the various spaces opened to the public at the time of the guided visits organized daily (duration of the visit: 1h).

In the main hall, nothing has changed since the castle was built. The very beautiful tapestries of Beauvais are in their place.
In the dining room with Louis XV woodwork and period trumeaux, a rich is decorated with Saint-Louis crystal.
You will walk through the hunting gallery with 80 trophies.
Throughout the visit, many unusual objects will catch your attention.
A room with a Louis XIXth style layout overlooks the Charente and offers unexpected spaces.
In the attic, you will discover the frameworks of the castle in a different atmosphere, that of the servants.

Located between Saintes and La Rochelle, the Château de Panloy opens the doors of its two guest rooms. Decorated and furnished according to their time, the authenticity of the rooms will make you live a romantic weekend. A warm welcome and a country atmosphere await you at the Château de Panloy for an unusual weekend. The guest rooms are open from April 1st to October 30th. The soul of the house has remained intact despite the passage of time. The castle, still inhabited by its descendants, has remained in its original state and restoration work is being carried out today.

Ideally located in a pretty village by the river and in the heart of the Charente Maritime, you can enjoy the calm of the countryside while being close to everything. The amateurs of heritage, nature or gastronomy will find there for sure their happiness.
