The Bay of Talmont-sur-Gironde is a magnificent natural site. This bay, formed by the Sandbank of Deau , is located near the mouth, at the end of the Gironde estuary , and therefore at the junction between the river and the ocean. The mouth is closed on the Gironde side by the Pointe de Grave . On the Charente Maritime side, it is a series of points, in particular the Pointe de Suzac and the Pointe de Meschers , followed by sandbanks, forming bays, which mark out the shore of the mouth.
As you stroll along the path along the Banc de Deau , which bears its name, you will be able to take the measure of this beautiful bay, admire the squares that border it, and you will have a breathtaking view of the other side of the estuary. , with the Mattes du Paladon , the Marais de Neyran , interspersed with its channels.
