We arrived very late for lunch and had not booked but they kindly let us eat. The conservatory area was full, but we were seated within the main restaurant which only had a couple of other diners. We had suprême de Volaille, ècrasé de Pomme de terres au lard et mogettes (chicken breast with crushed potatoes and a bacon and bean sauce) and Filet de Poisson de moment, rizotto de truffle (filet of fish with truffle risotto) We both had Profiterole sauce guarana to follow. The meal was accompanied by a crisp bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. Service was friendly and food was flavourful and well presented and sensibly priced. We very much enjoyed our meal. Port-des-Barques is a commune in the Charente-Maritime department in the region of Nouvelle-Aquitaine in south-west France.

We were in Port Des Barques for a wedding, and were staying at this hotel with a few other wedding guests. We exited our room around 10.30am to walk around and have breakfast before the wedding...
